Golf Handbook
Membership in the RVSA Golf league is available to all RVSD schools with students in grades 9 to 12.

- Eligibility rules are those set forth in the ASAA Handbook.
- The categories for participation are:
- High School Boys Individual and Team
- High School Girls Individual and Team
- Grade 9 Boys Individual and Team
- Grade 9 Girls Individual and Team

- The person who runs the Divisional Championship tournament assumes the role of commissioner.
- By the first week of June, the host school contacts other schools with details of the Divisional Championship tournament and ask for the number of teams entering.
- Participation in the RVSA Golf league includes the Divisional Championship tournament.
- The sports coordinator and the commissioner base the tournament format on the number of teams entered.
- Divisional Championship hosting duties rotate as follows:
- 2009-10: Chestermere
- 2010-11: Cochrane
- 2011-12: George McDougall
- 2012-13: Bert Church
- 2013-14: Bow Valley
- 2014-15: Beiseker
- 2015-16: Springbank
- 2016-17: WG Murdoch

Rules and Regulations |
- All games are played according to Canadian Golf Association rules as outlined in the ASAA Handbook.
- In the event of a tie, the following applies:
- The commissioner and tournament host apply a back-nine count back, with the lowest score winning as the first tie-breaker
- Second tie-breaker is high score on 18 wins.
- The standards/guidelines for yardage at the Division Championship tournament are:
- Grade 9 and High School Girls: 5,000-5,400 yards.
- Grade 9 Boys: 5,800-6,100 yards.
- High School Boys: 6,100-6,300 yards.
- Athletes must have an 18-hole qualifying round score of, at the most, 125 for boys and 150 for girls in order to compete at the Divisional Championship tournament.

Facilities and Equipment |
- The school assigned to host the Divisional Championship tournament is responsible for booking the facility and negotiating the fee.
- The tournament is held by the second week of September, approximately one week prior to the Zone Championship tournament.

Officials and Their Duties |
The commissioner acts as the official for the Divisional Championship tournament.

Code of Conduct |
All athletes and parents must sign the RVSA Code of Conduct for Athletes and Spectators prior to participating in any exhibition or RVSA event. Coaches must also sign the RVSA Code of Conduct for Coaches. Failure to complete the form results in that participant being disqualified from play and may result in his/her team forfeiting points gained while participating with an ineligible participant.

Team Cancellation Procedures |
- Once a school has sent in its roster, minor changes can be made up to one week prior to the tournament. These changes should be done by fax and by phone to the commissioner and the tournament host.
- Cancelling an entire team from the tournament changes the format and the amount of time needed, therefore all teams must be confirmed no later than two weeks prior to the event.

All grievances are dealt with according to the RVSA Appeal Policy - RVSA By-Laws Article XII.

The RVSD sponsors awards for the Divisional Championship tournament. They include the following:
- First, second and third-place medallions for all categories.
- Divisional Championship banners for High School Boys and Girls team categories.
- Divisional Championship trophies for High School Boys and Girls team categories.
- Divisional Championship trophies for Grade 9 Boys and Girls team categories.
- Divisional Championship banners for Grade 9 Boys and Girls team categories.
