  1. RVSA Handbook

The RVSA Handbook was distributed for reference and review.

  1. Schedule

Changes were made to the schedule to rectify the following:

    1. Bow Valley is not participating this year.
    2. The dates and days of the week on the original schedule did not correspond.
    3. Opening games were scheduled for the first day back from the break.

ACTION: JM to revise schedule, email to coaches and post on web.

  1. Results

Distributed a copy of score sheet. ACTION: JM to email score sheet to coaches so they have an electronic version handy.
It is very important for host schools to fax in score sheets immediately following the game or early the next morning. ACTION: Coaches are to fax score sheets to 219-6258.
Sports Coordinator will then email standings and inform any schools of disciplinary concerns.

  1. Rain-out days

Coaches are encouraged to do their best to play through the weather. If you know you’re going to need to call a game, the deadline is 2:00 pm. Call first the opposing coach and then the sports coordinator so she can cancel officials.

  1. Play-offs

MOTION: Brian DeGiuseppe from George McDougall moved that the fifth-place team be eliminated and we play-off with four teams. The motion was seconded by Rick Ross from Cochrane.
VOTE: Motion passed: 4 in favour, 0 against
ACTION: JM to revise schedule to reflect a four-team play-off.
ACTION: Rick Ross will pre-book Mitford Pond for play-offs. JM to book Monkland Park for play-offs.

  1. Awards

There are first, second and third place medallions as well as a Division Championship banner and trophy.
ACTION: The defending champion is to bring trophy to Monkland Park on May 31.

  1. Officials

Kevin McEvoy refs in Chestermere. Karen Boulter coordinates officials for Cochrane and Springbank. Brian has the names of two Airdrie refs and Jacquie has a list of officials from the Alberta Soccer Association.
ACTION: JM to book officials.
Note: Karen Boulter will not be available to book refs next year.

  1. Code of Conduct

Athletes, parents and coaches must sign Code of Conduct forms before the first league game or they are not eligible to participate. Principals are to send their declarations to the sports coordinator prior to the first league game.

  1. Reminders
    1. Teams can dress up to 20 players.
    2. If a team is more than 10 minutes late (and hasn’t contacted the opposing coach) the team forfeits that game, whether or not the teams scrimmage.
