  1. Commissioner Report

      Thanks to Tim McLenahan for serving as volleyball commissioner this season. TM thanked coaches for their understanding regarding the late-notice change in play-offs days. He reiterated that, when scheduling, the group needs to keep in mind that officials will give priority to RVSD volleyball on Mondays and Wednesdays. And that weekday play-off matches should take place on Monday, Wednesday or Friday.

  1. 2005 Season Evaluation
    1. Junior Varsity – James King, from George McDougall, asked about playing junior varsity matches cross-court. TM will talk to the Calgary Volleyball Officials Association (CVOA) about their willingness/ability to send two refs out for junior varsity matches. There will be more discussion on this at the pre-season meeting.
    2. Varsity
    3. Division Championships – The tournament went very well. Thanks to Cochrane for hosting this season. The group discussed different scenarios for staging play-offs. Again, play-off scheduling is contingent upon the availability of officials. There will be more discussion on this at the pre-season meeting.
  1. Officials

      There were no issues raised with regards to rules. The CVOA gave us 100% coverage during the season but there were a few play-off matches with only one official. Derrick Courtney, from the CVOA, said that getting him our schedule early made it possible for the good coverage. TM raised the issue of our schedule vis a vis officials in his report.

  1. Statistics

      Thanks very much to Doug Massig for his work as statistician. Doug has agreed to do stats again next year. At the pre-season meeting Doug will address the need to get stats in quickly and in what format he’d like to receive them.
