  1. Meet Date

Thursday, October 6, 10:00 am
Alternate date is Thursday, October 13

  1. Location

Glenmore Athletic Park is confirmed for both dates.
ACTION: JM to ensure no sprinklers are put on the night before the meet.
ACTION: JM to obtain map of Glenmore Athletic Park and include in meet kit.

  1. Schedule (attached)

Returned 3000m to track as per MB’s suggestion and agreement by group.

  1. Registration

ACTION: Coaches to submit their entries by Friday September 30 at 9:00 am. Entries are to be sent electronically to Jacquie at jmirtle@rockyview.ab.ca. using the attached form.
Discussed and clarified the following points:

    1. Each school may enter two competitors, plus an alternate, in each event.
    2. Each school may enter only one team in the 4x100m relay.
    3. An athlete may enter a maximum of four events, plus the relay. Three of the four events (or five if in the relay) may be track events.
    4. It is at the coach’s discretion whether or not alternates attend the meet.
    5. Coaches are to ensure that 3000m entrants are able to run the race in 20 minutes or faster.
    6. Race numbers – increased numbers per school as per LL.

ACTION: Coaches assign numbers and note numbers on the registration form.
ACTION: JM to distribute pinnies (acquired from Gord’s Running Room) to coaches via blue box. Coaches to distribute to athletes.

ACTION: JM to prepare heat sheets as per template outlined by MB and LL.

  1. Field officials

Field rules are attached and posted on the web. There is one change to the rules and regulations: Grade 8 Boys use the 2.7 kg shot put.
Field officials must have experience and efficiently run the event. They are to bring enough helpers (may be students) to allow for breaks and to ensure that the event runs efficiently and on schedule (e.g. recorders, measurers, implement retrievers, bar raisers, pit rakers, etc.).

ACTION: JM to prepare binders for field officials that include rules and quick tips.

  1. Set Up and Take Down

All school are to help with set-up, take-down and garbage pick-up.

  1. Coach to sit on grievance committee

Not necessary.

  1. Code of Conduct

Coaches to distribute and collect signed Code of Conduct forms and submit to their principals.

  1. Results

Unofficial results are posted outside of scorer’s room/table.
Pay careful attention to BP (Bearspaw) and BP (Banded Peak).
ACTION: JM to send, and post on the web, official results within two weeks.

  1. Awards Presentation

ACTION: JM to send ribbons to schools once results are in. Coaches will then distribute.

  1. Substitute Teachers

Track & field sub code is: 1-230-300-000-47

  1. Bussing

Track & field bussing code is: 1-533-300-000-47

  1. League fees

$125 per school (no change from last year).

  1. Uniforms

Schools are to wear school t-shirts or shirts of a similar colour.

  1. Concession

Run by Glenmore Athletic Park
