- Commissioner's Report
Thanks to Jennifer for acting as girls soccer commissioner this season. Jennifer thought the season went well, liked the increased number of games but would like to see play-offs on the Saturday.
Motion: Jenn Munise, George McDougall moved that, upon completion of the double round robin, we run two semi finals, a bronze medal game and a gold medal game on Saturday at Monklands Park. Carolyn McLeod seconded the motion. Vote:3 in favour, 0 opposed. Motion will go to Parameters.
Note: In order to fit in play-offs, we will not schedule a rain/snow out week. If we run into bad weather, we will base play-offs on current standings.
- Schedule
All coaches present were happy with the double round robin schedule.
- Officials
All coaches present were happy with the level of officiating. Sports coordinator was also satisfied.
- Fields
Mike Dang, Bow Valley, booked Mitford Pond for both Bow Valley and Cochrane. He will continue to do this. George McDougall still has a field issue and would like to try and play all of their home games at Monkland Park next season.
- Out-of-pocket Expenses
Coaches are reminded to submit their out-of-pocket expense forms. Forms can be dowloaded here.
- 2007-08 Season
Action: JM to keep the group posted regarding whether or not a Zone girls soccer championship is going to happen. JM will also find out whether or not Rocky View can invite Foothills and Strathmore
to play in its league.
Bring forward: Coaches will discuss how inclement the weather needs before we call a game.
- Next Meeting
The pre-season meeting will be held two days after the start of classes. Action: JM to post on web and email reminder.
- Other
Mike Dang, Bow Valley, wants to know if anyone is interested in playing an indoor tournament in March. Action: Coaches are to get back to Mike if they are interested. JM to present the idea to WG Murdoch and Beiseker as well.
