2. Commissioner
Thanks to Marie Bernard (Beiseker) for serving as commissioner this season. Action: RW or Glen Brooker to send last year’s information to Marie.
3. RVSA Handbook
Two updates were made to the Handbook:
a. The host rotation was changed to reflect the Beiseker/Springbank switch this year.
b. The rules and regulations were updated to reflect the motion passed through Parameters. A fourth point was added:
“Athletes must have an 18-hole qualifying round score of, at the most, 125 for boys and 150 for girls in order to compete at the Divisional Championship tournament.”
Coaches are reminded to try and balance the goals of student participation with the time limits and integrity of the tournament.
4. Divisional Championships

1:30 pm, shot gun start

Action: JM and MB to confirm the date and time, pending input from coaches.
Action: MB to circulate tournament information to coaches as soon as details are finalized.

Strathmore Golf Club
9:00 am, shot gun start
Fee: $45 per player
2A Boys & Girls

6. Provincial Championships
September 18-22
Host: Kate Andrews, Coaldale
7. Substitutes
The Division will cover the cost of one full-day sub per school. The sub code is: 1-230-300-000-47
8. League fees
The plug-in fee is $15 per school. This is in addition to the tournament entry fee paid to the host.
9. Team Declaration/Rosters
Action: MB to set the deadline for final team declaration, probably the Thursday or Friday before the tournament.
We need 90 players to make the shot gun start, which works out to an average of at least 12 players per school. More players may be registered closer to the registration deadline.
10. Rules Committee
Similar to last year, a rules committee, made up of at least three coaches, will be struck to deal with any contentious issues.
Note: We may want to include this in the Handbook for the following season.
11. Code of Conduct
Athletes, parents and coaches must sign Code of Conduct forms before the first league game or they are not eligible to participate. Principals are to send their declarations to the sports coordinator prior to the first league game.
12. Awards
Action: JM to order trophy plates and send them out in the Blue Box this month. Defending champions will be asked to submit the type of plates on their respective trophies.
13. Post-season meeting
September 28, 4:30
14. Scoring
It was suggested that:
a. Players write scores down immediately after the round instead of waiting until they get to the clubhouse.
b. Upon completion of each hole, all players score all players with one person being the attester and submitting the official score card.
15. Banners
The group suggested that, instead of supplying the plain green banners (the usefulness of which is questioned), the Division supply a generic banner that would only be used for photos. The banner can read:
Boys High School Golf
Rocky View School Division Champions
Or
Grade 9 Girls Golf
Rocky View School Division Champions
Action: JM to bring idea to RVSA Executive
