High School Golf Post-season Meeting Minutes

2. Commissioner's Report
   Coaches agreed that, despite the weather, the tournament went well. With having to postpone the first tournament, Ron Kuzmickas stressed the importance of having a coaches' cell phone list. Action: JM to bring forward to 2008-09 pre-season meeting.
   
   
3. Review of 2007-08 Tournament
   The only real issue had to do with the missing score card. Luckily the other boys in the foursome were able to back up what the player said but coaches need to stress how important it is for athletes to keep their score cards in order.
   Action: Next year we'll assign coaches to holes and foursomes, rather than schools. That way the coach can go over the rules, start them off and then meet up at the end of the round to go over the scores. We'll call the coaches "hole supervisors."
   
   
4. Zone and Provincials
   Results:
   3A Boys Zones - Bow Valley, 2nd
   3A Girls Zones - Chestermere, 2nd and Springbank, 3rd
   
   Somehow we need to avoid another conflict next year between our tournament and the 1A/2A Zones. When the date was posted I informed the Zone about our conflict but there was no action taken. Hopefully the 1A/2A Zones will be later in the week next year.
   
   
5. 2008-09 Commissioner and Host
   WG Murdoch is up in the rotation next year for commissioner and host. Rob Wilson will get in touch with Tyler McRae and help out booking the course (Canals at Delacour?)
   Update: Rob McNab has requested Delacour for Wednesday, September 10 or Thursday, September 11. (Ron Kuzmickas looked into Kananaskis golf club but availability is limited and the price is out of our range).
   
   The group decided Rocky View should host the 3A/4A Zone tournament. Action: JM to inform the Zone of our intention to host and Rob Wilson to look at booking the course.
   Update: JM has made it known to the Zone of our desire to host the 3A/4A tournament on either Tuesday, September 16 or Wednesday, September 17. Rob Wilson has looked into booking Delacour for the Zone date as well.
   
   
6. New Rotation
   The host rotation has run its cycle, so the new rotation will be inserted into the handbook.

8. Out-of-pocket Expenses
   RVSD policy states that out-of-pocket expense claims should be made within one month of the completion of the season. Action: Coaches are to submit claims in a timely manner.
