Football Post-season Meeting Minutes

2. Commissioner
   Thanks to Steve Repic for acting as commissioner again this season.
   
   
3. 2008-09 Season Review
   Schedule - Coaches were generally happy with the schedule and the extra home-and-home match ups. See note under 5.
   Officials - Excellent coverage and good quality officiating this season. Action: JM to get clarification regarding their viser release policy.
   Physiotherapy - Coverage was better this year but concern was expressed that they pulled kids from the game too early. Action: JM to review with them their guidelines for pulling kids and report back to coaches at the pre-season meeting.
   Results - Thank you to Verne Friesen for doing stats.
   Fields - The lack of facilities (changerooms, water) at the East Lake Field is a problem. At the very least there should be porta potties. Action: JM and SR to work on this.
   
   
4. 2008-09 Awards Banquet
   Monday, December 8
   6:30 pm
   Cochrane High
   Cost: $20
   Guest speaker: TBA
   Tier 2 Divisional champonship trophy will be presented to Cochrane High at the banquet. Medallions will also be awarded to Cochrane (gold), Springbank (silver), Chestermere (bronze) coaches.
   There will also be a jersey raffle in support of a scholarship being set up for a player's parent who passed away a few weeks ago.
   Action: Coaches are to email numbers to Bruce by December 1.
   Action: Coaches are asked to bring to the banquet: cheques, helmet, kids in jerseys.
   Action: JM to design and print program and get centrepieces and table coverings to Cochrane High.
   
   
5. 2009-10 Season
   Bow Valley would like to see the home-and-home series rotate throughout the league.So for next season, Bow Valley can play Springbank twice. Action: JM will consult coaches in January regarding these match-ups.
   
   
6. Pre-season Meeting
   Thursday, April 23
   4:30 pm, Education Centre, Airdrie
   Note: Every effort will be made to have a 2009 schedule done by mid-January.
   
   
7. Awards Selection
   Award winners were determined. Note: Upon review of the ballots, Shaun Nolan (Springbank) is the sole recipient for the defensive lineman award.
