ACTION: Coaches are to download the MS Track & Field Registration Form, type in your athletes' information (including race number) and email it back to JM by Friday, September 26.

Each school may enter two competitors, plus an alternate, in each event. Each school may enter only one team in the 4x100m relay. An athlete may enter a maximum of four events, plus the relay. Three of the four events (or five if in the relay) may be track events. It is at the coach's discretion whether or not alternates attend the meet.

Coaches are to ensure that 3000m entrants are able to run the race in 20 minutes or less.

Race numbers are assigned as follows:
    Mitford 1-80
    Muriel Clayton 81-160
    Manachaban 161-260

  6. Results
    Proposal for this year:
That we rent photo timing equipment from the track council and hire two officials (Doug Lamont and Ed Moore) to do results. This eliminates the need for so many people at the finish line. It also makes the results process very, very fast and doable with one person. The total cost is $650 - based on participation numbers last year, works out to about a $1.00 per student. Coaches would like to go with this proposal. Action: JM to seek approval from principals. Update: Of the eight administrators that responded to the proposal, all eight were in favour.

  7. Officials
The group reviewed officials' assignments and updated. Note that last year's starter (Chestermere Lake) will move into the track marshall position and a new starter will train this year. Therefore Chestermere Lake is this year's track commissioner and Banded Peak is the starter. Action: JM to put official rotation in handbook.
    Starter - Banded Peak
    Track Marshall - Chestermere Lake
    Course Clerk - Jacquie Mirtle
Finish Line - Mitford, Langdon, WG Murdoch
    Long Jump - Manachaban
