Football Pre-season Meeting Minutes

2. Commissioner
   Thank you to Brian Utley for volunteering to serve as commissioner for this season and next.
   
   
3. CFOA
   CFOA fees will increase from $38 per game to $40 per game, regardless if it's a single or double-header.
   Reviewed exhibition game policy.
   Action: JM To get clarification/statement from the CFOA regarding visors and notes.
   Two reminders from last year:
   -It is important that our scorekeepers are able to get the correct information from officials at the time of a penalty. Officials and coaches should only sign game sheets if they are filled out completely and accurately.
   - Complaints are to go to the sports coordinator and football commissioner, not directly to the CFOA.
   
   
4. Tier Designation
   Tier 2 - Chestermere, George McDougall, Bow Valley, Bert Church, Springbank
   Tier 3 - Cochrane
   
   
5. Schedule
   The group reviewed the schedule and finalized. It has been sent to the CFOA and is posted on the website.
   
   
6. Divisional Championship
   As five out of six teams are in Tier 2 this year, the group decided that both a league champion and a Tier 2 champion would be declared. Banners will be awarded to both, gold medallions to the league champion and gold, silver and bronze medallions to the top Tier 2 teams.
   
   
7. Provincial Championships
   Foothills will host the Rocky View the regional qualifier.
   
   
8. Fields
   East Lake field will be the home field for both Bert Church and George McDougall. Action: Brent Legault is to contact Nancy Adams at Bert Church to see if, when George McDougall hosts, they can have access to change rooms at Bert Church.
   Action: All host schools are to supply water and ice.
   
   
9. Dino Sports Therapy
   Sports therapy has been booked for the 2009 season.
   
   
10. Football Alberta
    Action: JM to pay Football Alberta with one cheque for all teams.
    
    
11. League Fees
    Will increase to $2750 per team. The increase is due to an increase in the number of games this season and increases in both CFOA and Football Alberta fees.
    
    
12. Rosters
    Action: Teams are to submit rosters by Wednesday, September 9.
    
    
13. Code of Conduct
    Action: Players and coaches are to sign Code of Conduct forms and submit to school administrator by Wednesday, September 2.
    
    
14. Results
    Verne Friesen has agreed to do stats for us again. Thank you, Verne. Game sheets are to be faxed to sports coordinator (945-4011) and Verne (932-5133). Please email score to me as soon as you can so I can post it on the web.
    
    
15. Banquet
    Bert Church
    Monday, November 30 at 6:30 pm
    $35 per player
    Action: JM to send banquet guildelines to Andy Kirk.
    
    
16. Awards
    Reviewed awards and procees.
    All awards will be determined at the post-season meeting. JM will send a template to coaches on which they can make notes in preparation for the meeting. It is critical you send a representative to this meeting.
    Allocation is as follows:
    1st Place - 8; 2nd Place - 6; 3rd Place - 5; 4th Place - 4; 5th Place - 3; 6th Place - 2
