Curling Information
1. Commissioner
Thank you to Corina Bauer, from Bow Valley, for acting as commissioner this year.
2. Rules and Regulations
All games are played according to Canadian Curling Association rules as outlined in the ASAA Handbook (click for link). Please review the our handbook, posted here, as well.
3. Divisional Championship Bonspiel

1:00 pm - THIS IS A NEW TIME. The curling club has requested a 1:00 start. Please let me know if this doesn't work for your school.

Airdire Curling Club
Rink fees are the same as last year: $30 (plus GST) per sheet per two hours. Note: The Airdrie Curling Club has not increased their fees for us for, at least, six years. They will be increasing them next year.
4. Zone Championship Bonspiel
Date: w/o Feb. 21 to 26 Note: There is no Zone host indicated on the South Central Zone website. Action: JM to forward Zone information as soon as I receive it. If any coach receives information beforehand, please send it to me. To qualify for Zones, teams must place first at the divisional bonspiel. The Zone host may have wildcard spots available. Gr. 9s are not eligible for Zones.
5. Provincial Championship Bonspiel

Host: Llyodminster Comprehensive
6. League fees
$20 per school plus rink rental. Action: JM will email cost once the draw is done. It willl be about $40 per team and is payable to the commissioner or sports coordinator at the bonspiel by cheque made out to Rocky View Schools..
7. Team Declaration Deadline
Coaches are to declare teams to Sports Coordinator by 4:30 pm on Friday, January 21. When declaring, please indicate the total number of teams that you can enter into that category as I will be using extra teams (by lottery) to fill the draw. I don't need names of athletes. The categories are:
Girls
Boys
Mixed
Gr. 9
Reminder: The ASAA registration deadline is the following day, January 22. You are to register your spares with them as well.
8. Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct Form for Players and the Code of Conduct Form for Coaches are to be signed and submitted to your administrator by February 1.
9. Respect in Sport
Coaches are also reminded that completion of the Respect in Sport program is mandatory and must be completed by the start of your season.This applies to teacher and community coaches. Thank you for your compliance.
10. Awards
Defending champions are to ensure trophies are at the curling club on Thurs, Feb. 3. Medallions and banners for all categories will be awarded at the conclusion of the bonspiel. Note: Our high school banner program has changed, as per Parameters last June. Banners are to be returned to the sports coordinator as they are for presentation purposes only.
