- Commissioner
Thank you very much to Matt Smith from Cochrane High for volunteering to work as commissioner.
- Schedule
Coaches in attendance considered the following:
1. Move game start time to 4:45 pm to accommodate the later dismissal time.
2. Move to a single round robin. The rationale for this is:
a. We have no room for make up games.
b. The weather trend this summer has been brutal, but hey. You never know!
c. Zones are Oct. 15 and 16 and our season isn't scheduled to end until Oct. 21
d. Kids are moving into indoor by late October
If we do move to a single round robin, perhaps we can organize a Saturday tournament to get in more games.
3. Keep the double round robin but:
a. Do not reschedule rain/snow out games. Standings would be based on win percentage.
b. Skip semis and just do finals with standings afer the regular season - 1 vs. 2, 3 vs. 4
c. Start the season a bit later on Sep. 16.
South Central Zone Championships are October 15-16 at St. Anthony's.

Rocky View Schools covers the cost of first, second and third place medallions and a trophy. Note that, at Parameters, it was recommended we change our banner program. As most schools make their own divisional banners, we will now have a banner at the event for presentation and photo ops only. The banner will not go to the school.
- League Fees
The RVSA is moving toward an invoicing system this year. Schools will pay a deposit and then will be invoiced at the end of the year. Action: JM to give an estimate once the schedule format is determined. .
- Code of Conduct
Action: Players and coaches are to sign Code of Conduct forms
and submit to school administrator. This is to be done before your first
game.
- Respect in Sport
Coaches are also reminded that completion of the Respect in Sport program is mandatory and must be completed by the start of your season. This applies to teacher and community coaches. Thank you for your compliance.
- Out-of-pocket expenses
Download
an Extra-Curricular Expense Form here. Just a reminder that you
can claim mileage to and from meetings and that RVS policy states that expense claims should be submitted no later than one month after the activity season has ended.
- Athletic Travel Form
Download the Athletic Travel form here.
- Post-season Meeting
There is no post-season meeting scheduled. We haven't had one the past few years but if something comes up this year that we will need to discuss we will schedule one.
- Pre-season Meeting
JM suggested we hold the pre-season meeting in June, like we do with volleyball and football.
Coaches agreed.
