3. Tournament Dates
Divisionals - Sat., Apr. 16th @ Cochrane High, Bow Valley, Mitford Middle, Bearspaw Middle? (Awaiting confirmation)
Sr. High Zones – Wed. April 20th @ Edison
Jr. High Zones - Wed, May 4??? (Can’t access it at www.sczone.ca)
Provincials - Fri. and Sat., May 6 and 7 @ Strathmore

4. Registration
Deadline is: Wednesday, April 13 at 4:00pm
Cochrane High has purchased a badminton tournament software.
***Action: Jason C to research software program and find out how to enter registrations. Sub day for April 14th if he needs to do it manually???
Reminder to coaches to register with the ASAA at the same time. The ASAA registration deadline is April 15th, 2011.

5. Classifications and Categories
Juvenile - Grade 9 - three teams in each category (singles, doubles, mixed)
Junior - Under 16 as of Sep. 1, 2010 - two teams in each category
Intermediate - Under 17 as of Sep. 1, 2010 - two teams in each category
Senior - Under 19 as of Sep. 1, 2010 - two teams in each category
* Note that Junior and Intermediate athletes can play up, Juvenile cannot.

8. Venues and Drawmasters
***Action: Kristina H to book schools and contact middle school athletic directors regarding setting up the nets, drawmaster tables and on-deck benches.

9. League Fees
$2.00 per competitor.

10. Awards
First, second and third-place medallions for all categories.

Divisional Championship banner for highest aggregate total will be Blue Boxed out the week after the tournament… by Jacquie Mirtle?

11. Code of Conduct
***Action: Athletes, parents and coaches must sign Code of Conduct forms before the first league game or they are not eligible to participate. Principals are to send their declarations to the sports coordinator prior to the tournament.

12. Supervision
***Action: Kristina H to enquire about community supervisors. Do we need supervisors if we have Rockyview staff present at each venue (ie. drawmasters and co-drawmasters as well as coaches)???

13. Dress Code
School colours or white t-shirts and black shorts. Please remind your athletes that sleeveless tops, hats and bandanas are not permitted.

14. Shuttles

***Action: Kristina H to contact Murray Besenski / Val Woodman to order 26 tubes, to be distributed to drawmasters, along with tape, markers, lined poster paper, rules package and score sheets.

15. Out-of-pocket Expenses
Expenses are covered for teacher and community coaches. Forms can be downloaded from the Coaches' Corner section of the website.

16. Results
All results are to go to Cochrane at the end of the day.

17. Zones
The top two teams/competitors go to the Zone championships. Reminder: Coaches are to explain to athletes that they must declare their intention to compete (or not compete) at Zones the day of the Divisional tournament. ***Action: Coaches are responsible for registering their players with the Zone!
