Thank you to Jordan Flower, from Meadowbrook, for once again working as commissioner this year.
- Teams Declaration
Jr. A Team lists and rankings were circulated. Teams will be re-seeded after the seeding tournament. Girls seeding committee: Reed Barrett, Deb Clarke, Melissa Berger, Jordan Flower. Boys seeding committee: Marc Barber, Ashley VanBiezen, Lynn Ross, Jordan Flower.
Gr. 6
Action: Coaches are to declare Gr. 6 teams (maximum of two girls teams and two boys teams per school) by Friday, January 21.
Jr. B
Action: Coaches are to declare Jr. B teams (maximum of two girls teams and two boys teams per school) by Friday, February 18.

All schedules will be psoted at www.rockyviewsports.com
- Results
Coaches are to email or fax scores to sports coordinator and commissioner immediately following the tournament. Host schools hang on to score sheets until the completion of the season.
- Officials
Action: Sports coordinator to book officials. The handbook states Jr. A is to have two carded officials but it is unlikely we'll get two. Jr. B is to have one official per games. These are booked through the Calgary Basketball Officials Association.
Report any problems, lates or no-shows to sports coordinator.
- Rule Modifications
Jordan presented Jr. A Rule Modifications (click here to download) and made modfications to them at the meeting. A 2010 FIBA Rules update can be found here.
- Supervision
Coaches are reminded that, in addition to supervising their own team, they are asked to be actively supervising all kids at the gym. Report any behaviour issues to the sports supervisor and the host school supervisor.
- Host Reimbursement
A hosting budget of $250 per tournament has been incorporated into middle school plug-in fees to cover the cost of the volunteer room, a half-day sub, scorekeeper honoraria and wear-and-tear on equipment. Download a form here.

- Code of Conduct
ACTION: The Code of Conduct Form for Players and the Code of Conduct Form for Coaches are to be signed and submitted to your administrator before the first tournament..
- Respect in Sport
Coaches are also reminded that completion of the Respect in Sport program is mandatory and must be completed by the start of your season.This applies to teacher and community coaches. Thank you for your compliance.
- Next meeting
As per Parameters, there is no specific post-season basketball meeting. Coaches are asked to note comments and bring them to the general post-season sports meeting
on Thursday, May 5 at 1:00 pm.
