Football Pre-season Meeting Minutes

2. Commissioner
   Brian's term as commissioner has ended - thank you, Brian - so the position is vacant. The commissioner job description is:
   
   • To advise the Sports Coordinator and coaches on technical issues.
   • To assist the Sports Coordinator in designing league and play-off schedules.
   • To review results and rankings prior to Divisional Championships.
   • To handle disciplinary actions involving ejections, suspensions and technical fouls including warning and ejection letters to the athletes, coaches and Principals.
   • To sit on the Eligibility Review Committee. 
   • To co-chair the pre and post-season meetings with the Sports Coordinator.
   • To attend as many events in their sport as possible.
   • To attend and make presentations at the Divisional Championships and awards banquets.

Action: JM to offer the position to Brent Liebel and Dan Dumont. Update: Both Brent and Dan have declined.

3. CFOA
   Thank you to Grant Schmick for attending the meeting. Grant reviewed our schedule and gave us input into getting optimal coverage. There are no rule updates and Grant will send us an update on CFOA rate for next season.
   
   
4. Tier Designation
   Tier 2 - Chestermere, George McDougall, Bert Church, Springbank
   Tier 3 - Cochrane
   Tier 4 - Bow Valley
   
   
5. Schedule
   The group reviewed the May 9 version of the schedule and made changes. Click here to review.
   
   
6. Divisional Championship
   A Tier 2 championship is scheduled with two semis and a final.
   
   
7. Provincial Championships
   Regional qualifiers will now be hosted by the top seed. Thank you to Bruce who attended the Region 2 football meeting. Bruce brought the new Region 2 Football Playoff Agreement to the meeting. Click here to review.
   
   
8. Fields
   East Lake field will be the home field for both Bert Church and George McDougall. Action: JM to contact Greg Lockert at the City of Airdrie to arrange for dressing rooms.
   
   
9. Dino Sports Therapy
   Rate will remain at $30 per hour plus the time to travel to and from each school location based on a U of C departure.  Return trip distances have been calculated as:
   Springbank:  1.0 hours
   Chestermere:  1.0 hours
   George McDougall:  1.0 hours
   Bert Church:  1.0 hours
   Bow Valley:  1.5 hours
   Cochrane:  1.5 hours
   This will be added to the time for game coverage.
   
   
10. Football Alberta
    Action: JM to pay Football Alberta with one cheque for all teams.
    
    
11. League Fees
    $1,650 for the 2011-12 season.
    
    
12. Rosters
    Action: Teams are to submit rosters by September 3. Action: JM to create template.
    
    
13. Code of Conduct
    Action: Players and coaches are to sign Code of Conduct forms and submit to school administrator by Tuesday, September 6.
    
    
14. Results
    Home teams are to fax score sheets to Jacquie at 403-945-4011. Reminder: Coaches are to both sign the Game Evaluation Sheet. Action: JM to ask Verne if he will do stats again this season.
